Michelle Jones is the Head of Revenue Protection for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), directly accountable for developing and implementing strategies and procedures that ensure fare revenue protection. Michelle has spent most of her 25+ years in progressively responsible positions in finance and administration, information technology, project, program and portfolio management, governance, policy, and process development.

Michelle was the Electric Bus (eBus) Program Manager accountable for managing and integrating three Battery Electric Bus (eBus) procurement projects, procuring and implementing the related charging systems, and building the business case for large-scale fleet electrification at TTC. Ms. Jones lead the team from procurement, design, preparation, implementation, commissioning, and successfully deploying the TTC’s first of 60 eBuses into revenue service. At present, the TTC is operating the largest fleet of electric buses in North America.

Michelle is a member of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO Toronto and Region), advocating for employment diversity, inclusion, and contracting opportunities in the multimodal transportation industry. Michelle is also a member of the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Diversity and Inclusion Council and a TTC Pension Plan Board director.

Michelle is a graduate of York University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts, Mathematics for Commerce.  She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP)®.
