Sue Connor began her career in 1976 working for Canada Post, moving quickly through the ranks of the government agency over the next 12 years in a series of managerial posts.  In 1988, she made the move to the transit industry working for Mississauga Transit in a number of positions in their Operations Department, finally leading that department.  In 2003, she moved to the role of General Manager, Transit for the City of Brampton, the 9^th largest city in Canada. In this role she led a team of 1000+ employees and managed a multi-million-dollar budget in one of the fastest growing municipalities in Canada.  After retiring from the City of Brampton in 2017, she started working for the City of Burlington as Director of Transit.  Sue is a past Chair of the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) and Chair of Canadian Urban Transit Research and Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC) and currently is a member of both associations’ Board of Directors.

Jennifer McNeill joined New Flyer in 2012 and is responsible for the Contract and Bids Management team, plus the design and delivery of strategic sales support, marketing and related business development programs. She also provides direction for strategic business intelligence activities. Prior to joining New Flyer, Jennifer held senior management and executive positions in engineering, quality, sales and business strategy and most recently was the Vice President Sales, Marketing and Business Development at Standard Aero. Jennifer is a graduate from the University of Manitoba where she obtained both her Mechanical Engineering degree and an MBA. Jennifer is a Professional Engineer

Mark Shorey is Director, Finance for the Thales Global Centre of Competence for Urban Rail and Mobility headquartered in Toronto.

A Chartered Professional Accountant, Mark has previously held Director roles in Business Strategy and Business Development involved in both the capture and deployment phases of many large key global projects over his 25 years with Thales.
Currently he is responsible for Finance support for Business Development and R&D Operations including the commercial management of Funding projects.

In additional to holding a CPA CMA designation, Mark holds a Bachelor Degree with Certificate of Honours Standing in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and also sits on the Board of Directors of Innovation ENCQOR.

With a broad range of public, private and post-secondary administration throughout her career, Heather provides leadership to support the ongoing expansion of the research and innovation enterprise at the University of Windsor. In her current role as Executive Director Research and Innovation, she is supporting the research activities, technology transfer, research partnership
development, knowledge mobilization and commercialization efforts to move the University’s research results to benefit society.

Heather is also a founding Director of the University of Windsor’s Entrepreneurship Practice and Innovation Centre (EPICentre), and continues to pursue research into entrepreneurship through her doctoral studies, with a focus on barriers to women and new venture creation.

Kosai Alnasan is the Vice President of Grid Integration Business as well as Vice President of Industry Sales for Hitachi ABB Power Grids Canada, directly responsible for leading a newly created industry sales and marketing organization to drive solutions in markets including transportation, mining and minerals, and data centres across Canada. Double-hatting with the industry sales leadership position, he is also providing strategic direction and coordinating the development of new and potential business in different market segments such as transport infrastructure, renewables, and utilities.

Kosai has 20 years of experience in the electrical engineering industry, beginning in construction before joining ABB in 2006. From leading a team of over 35 sales engineers in the Power Grids division, to driving growth with the Medium Voltage Territory Marketing and Sales team in the Middle East and Africa, Kosai has been heavily involved with many key global projects throughout his 12 years at ABB. In addition to his breadth of expertise in business development, Kosai holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Aleppo as well as a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Wright State University.

Kymm Girgulis is a Senior Key Account Manager with BC Hydro supporting the Transportation Sector. Kymm has had extensive experience supporting various transportation projects throughout British Columbia as it relates to energy conservation and electrification. In particular, Kymm has worked in strong partnership with Transit agencies, Ports and Airports in the Province.

Mylene is recognized in the field as a natural leader who has been honing her skills throughout her 25 years of experience, mostly in aerospace, notably as Vice-President of Sales, Business development and Marketing at Thales Avionics Canada. She boast a deep understanding of the fields of engineering, sales, proposals and marketing in aviation and other sectors. Her business development expertise recently earned her a spot in the Excellence2020 cohort, an initiative that recognizes leaders who are making a difference in the business and philanthropic landscape.

After earning two bachelor’s degrees from McGill University, one in mechanical engineering with a minor in management and the other in Environment and agricultural engineering, Mylene further boosted her skills with an MBA from the University of Cumbria UK in 2018.

As Nova Bus Vice-President of Sales & Marketing, Mylene will lead the sales, marketing, bids & proposals, sales engineering and product management teams.

Michelle Jones is the Head of Revenue Protection for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), directly accountable for developing and implementing strategies and procedures that ensure fare revenue protection. Michelle has spent most of her 25+ years in progressively responsible positions in finance and administration, information technology, project, program and portfolio management, governance, policy, and process development.

Michelle was the Electric Bus (eBus) Program Manager accountable for managing and integrating three Battery Electric Bus (eBus) procurement projects, procuring and implementing the related charging systems, and building the business case for large-scale fleet electrification at TTC. Ms. Jones lead the team from procurement, design, preparation, implementation, commissioning, and successfully deploying the TTC’s first of 60 eBuses into revenue service. At present, the TTC is operating the largest fleet of electric buses in North America.

Michelle is a member of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO Toronto and Region), advocating for employment diversity, inclusion, and contracting opportunities in the multimodal transportation industry. Michelle is also a member of the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Diversity and Inclusion Council and a TTC Pension Plan Board director.

Michelle is a graduate of York University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts, Mathematics for Commerce.  She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP)®.

Nicolas Pocard, brings to Ballard more 20 years of experience in business development and marketing at international level.

Nicolas joined the fuel cell industry in 2004 and Ballard Power Systems in 2012. Among his responsibilities, Nicolas looks after corporate market strategy, marketing activities, government relations and strategic partnerships for Ballard.

Nicolas is the Vice-Chair of the Board of the Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (CHFCA) and a Board member of the California Hydrogen Business Council (CHBC) and of the Canadian Urban Transit Research & Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC). He also represents Ballard with various Industry Associations and Government forums.

Nicolas holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from ESCOM (Paris) and a Master’s of Science from The Ohio State University (USA).

Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC) is the largest operating company in the TransLink enterprise. Randy is responsible for oversight of the Maintenance Division, which includes Fleet Technical Support, Fleet Maintenance, Infrastructure Engineering, and SeaBus Engineering and Operations. In 2020, CMBC delivered 5.8M service hours, drove 113M kms and moved 139M passengers in the Greater Vancouver Region of British Columbia.

Randy is also the CMBC lead for TransLink’s Low Carbon Fleet Strategy where in 2018 TransLink formally adopted their organizational goals to achieve an 80% reduction in green house gas emissions and utilize 100% renewable energy in all operations by 2050. He has been with CMBC for the past 5 years.

Prior to joining CMBC, Randy worked in Ontario in the municipal sector, as Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Prescott and Director of Infrastructure for the Municipality of West Nipissing. He has also held various engineering roles in health care, utilities, consulting and post-secondary sectors.

Randy attended Lakehead University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a registered engineer in British Columbia and Ontario.

Stephanie Lefebvre practices as a Senior Counsel at ABB Inc. where she provides multidisciplinary support to its electrification businesses and divisions, with a focus on strategic contract negotiations, governance, and integrity compliance, as well as claim and risk management. She also acts as Canada’s Corporate Counsel & Fiduciary and in that capacity, is involved in the organization’s global commercial transactions. Prior to joining ABB Inc. in 2016, Stephanie practiced for 15 years as an in-house lawyer in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, working as lead attorney when assisting local and international divisions. Bilingual counsel and business advisor known for her creative problem-solving skills and result-oriented approach; she also acts since 2018 as a member to Montreal Bar In-House Counsels Committee.

Steve Kay is a licensed professional engineer in the province of Ontario and has worked for Enbridge for 29 years. He has held numerous positions in a number of departments at Enbridge including Operations, Engineering, Product Development, Gas Supply and most recently Business Development. In his current role he leads the Enbridge team charged with developing low carbon transportation solutions where he was instrumental in the compressed natural gas (“CNG”) transit deployment for the Hamilton Street Railway. Steve and his team also recently commissioned three new public access, heavy duty capable CNG refueling stations at truck stops along the highway 401 corridor in Windsor, London and Napanee, Ontario. Steve has been a guest speaker at numerous natural gas vehicle & hydrogen industry events and was a past member of the Canadian Standards Association Natural Gas Vehicles and Fueling JB 112 committee and is currently a sitting member of the board of the Canadian Natural Gas Vehicle Alliance. He is married with 3 adult children and lives in Chatham, Ontario where he volunteers his time as Vice-Chair of the Board of the YMCAs of Southwestern Ontario.

Theresa leads Strategy and Business Development for Siemens in Canada, with a special focus on growing Siemens’ charging infrastructure business.

Her Siemens career started in management consulting in the US and Germany, led her to offshore wind in Denmark, and then back to Canada for strategy roles across Siemens’ energy businesses.

She holds a degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a doctorate in neuroscience from the Max Planck Institute in Tuebingen, Germany.

Theresa sits on the boards of CUTRIC and Electric Mobility Canada.

She is also responsible for Siemens Canada’s Engineering & Technology Academy (SCETA) and its German-inspired Dual Education program for post-secondary students. Theresa is married with three young children and is a certified professional coach, yoga teacher, and musician with 4 original tracks on Soundcloud.
